The Medical Center is proud to announce the following additions to its faculty and leadership staff.
Kristen Shae Bell, M.D.
Dr. Kristen Shae Bell, a former anesthesiology chief resident at UMMC, has joined the Medical Center faculty as an assistant professor of anesthesiology.
After receiving her B.S. in biochemistry summa cum laude from Mississippi State University in 2006, Bell earned her M.D. in 2012 at UMMC, where she had an anesthesiology residency from 2012-15, and was anesthesiology chief resident from 2015-16. She completed her chronic pain fellowship at UMMC in 2017.
A member of Phi Kappa Phi at Mississippi State and of Alpha Omega Alpha at UMMC, Bell is an active member of the America Society of Anesthesiologists and the Mississippi State Medical Association.
Sara Emily Allen Clark, M.D.
Dr. Sara Emily Allen Clark, a recent general pediatrics resident at UMMC, has joined the Medical Center faculty as an assistant professor of pediatrics.
After receiving her B.A. from Vanderbilt University in 2009, Clark earned her M.D. at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine in 2014. She then completed a general pediatrics residency at UMMC from 2014-17.
She will serve as pediatric chief resident from 2017-18.
Sarah E. Conerly, M.D.
Sarah E. Conerly, a UMMC alum and recent pediatric neurology fellow at UMMC, has joined the Medical Center faculty as an assistant professor of pediatrics.
After receiving her B.S. in chemistry summa cum laude from Mississippi State University in 2006, Conerly earned her M.D. at UMMC in 2010. She then had a pediatrics residency and internship at UMMC from 2010-13 and was pediatric chief resident from 2013-14. She completed her pediatric neurology fellowship in 2017.
Department of Pediatrics Teaching Resident of the Year in 2012, Conerly is an active member of the Child Neurology Society, the Southern Pediatric Neurology Society and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
